Nail polish

I have always loved nail polish. It is one cosmetic that is accessable to everyone. It comes in every imaginable color and anyone can paint their nails. Lately I have really been enjoying The Opi havanna nights collection from sephora! I love the variety of the set and the fact that the bottles are little because even when I use a color a lot, it always seems to dry out before I can use it up. This summer I love the bright neon colors, they are so fun! What is your favorite nail polish?

Eye shapes

So I have been trying to figure out what type of eye shape I have because this is supposed to help in figuring out what application styles will look good on me. Not that I wouldn't be trying everything I can think of on myself anyways, but it does bother be that I can't seem to figure this one out, which leads me to believe that I am not a "true" anything. I know that I am not a true almond shape, but I'm not wide-set, big eyed, or anything very distinctive. My eyes don't droop at the outer corners or the inner lines for that matter. I just don't think that I really fit any of the categories. When I was a miamaid, one of my advisors was a Marykay lady. I loved her, she was great! I can remember one activity where she taught us about make-up and different eye shapes(this was my first introduction to eye shapes and differing ways to apply make-up based on that shape). During this evening I was told that I have hooded eyes, and have believed this for quite sometime. However, after looking more and more at people with "hooded eyes" I have come to believe that my eyes don't exactly fit into that category. There is some hooding, but not really enough to qualify and "hooded eyes" in my mind. Alas, just one more set of molds that I don't fit quite nicely into. But really I should be taking this as a good thing because then that means that I can probably get away with a lot more variety of make-up looks than someone whose eyes' do fall nicely into one category or the other. So, yeah for me! What do you all think about your eye shape? Do you fall into a category or are you more like me where you're not really one thing or another but more of a combination? What are your favorite tips for your eyes when applying make-up? Have a wonderful day and keep on playing! Intro

Ok, so since around October to 2009 I have been a regular you-tuber watcher of make-up videos, but a few of the guru's have really caught my attention and I now have my favorites that I like to watch. They consist of, and in no particular order, Lollipop26, Kandeethemakeupartist, pixiwoo, and allthatglitters21. Each has there own unique style and way os doing videos and I like each guru for different reasons. While I am not brave enough, or have the video editing software to actually make videos yet, I felt that I could make a blog and talk about my thought and get advice from everyone else out there on products and technique.

I am relatively new to the whole world of "serious" make-up users and find it all fascinating. I love that I can play with my face ad change my look each day without having to do any thing permanent. I also like that I can express my creativity in a way that no one I am acquainted with on a daily basis does with make-up.

So, enouh of the intro and on to my first real topic, what for it......

Primer!!!!

Here's the deal, I had oily skin when I was in high school but since college, the skin has changed to be combination oily. I had been using concealer on my eyes for a primer(although I didn't know until a few months ago that is what I was using it in place of!) and it only lasts for a few hours. It seems that the main primers that people talk about are the mac paintpots and the urban decay primer potion. But which works best? Which will be the best bang for my buck? See, I'm not really willing to go spend a lot of money on something only to find out that it still creases a few hours later! Any advice is welcome!

My next question:

Bronzer!

I have a cheap bronzer that is really a tinted shimmer. It is actually called "Glimmer Bronze" by, I'm embarassed to admit it, Bonnebell. Yes I picked it up in the grocery store in the aisle I think of as the kiddie make up like Lipsmackers and wet n' wild. At the time I thought it would just  be something fun to add some color and I like shimmer. Since getting into make-up more, I realize that this is kind of an oximoron of a product. Don't I want a bronzer to be matte so that it actually does what it is supposed to do when I use it to contour? Any suggestions for a bronzer for someone with medium-olive skintone?

Well, I think that it about it for me tonight, thanks for stopping by!
